Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs the range of diagnostic examinations according to duty list of the department.
• Produces good quality diagnostic radiographs with a maximum radiation safety measure .
• Assists the radiologist in special procedures .
• Applies radiation principles at all times to ensure the safety of the patient , relative and staff .
• Ensure correct patient identification before proceeding with examination.
• Ensure Patient privacy , comfort and safety at all times while in the department or during mobile radiography.
• Respect and maintain patient confidentiality , releasing information only to referring clinicians.
• Reports to section supervisor at commencement at the end of duty.
• Reports all equipment faults to the section supervisor and complete maintenance log book as required..
• Reports incident or accidents to section supervisor and complete appropriate incident report form.
• Complete daily duties of assignment.
• Ensure examination rooms and radiographic machines are clean.
• Check the equipment’s to ensure that they are clean and available
• Ensure lead protections are properly stored.
• .Participate in department rota including shift and on-call duty as required.
• Knowledge of daylight processing in digital environment.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the superintendent radiographer.
• observe all health and safety policy and procedures pertaining to the department.
