Job Summary
The showroom Manager implements the systems, methods and plans for managing the store location, with accountability for inventory and staff management, ensuring prescribed sales, productivity, customer service and profitability targets are met.
Responsibilities
a) General
– Following company and departmental benchmarks
– Following all reasonable instructions as requested by the management
– Being aware of all in-store promotions, activities etc.
– Keeping all company information, including sales figures, strictly confidential
– Ensuring sales staff follow all company rules and regulations
– Following all company safety and security procedures
– Representing the company in the best way possible at all times, whether on or off duty
– Managing all the store management and ensuring their departments are run correctly.
– Driving an ethical and caring work concept
– Having a sound knowledge of all store functions in order to be able to check them properly.
– Initiating, suggesting and operating strictly within budgets and reporting back to Head Office as required
– Spending as much time on the shop floor as possible so as to be available to staff and customers alike
– Ensuring compliance of employees with established location security, sales, cleanliness and record keeping procedures and systems
– Monitoring and evaluating staff performance and training needs
– Training & coaching staff on store policies, department procedures, and job duties
– Conducting daily, weekly & monthly store checklist and store tours in all sections including the back store
b) Merchandise & Display
– Ensuring that all display products are in good condition and ready for demonstration
– Ensuring that all display products are priced and well-highlighted.
– Ensuring that no empty place on display
– Recommending additions to or deletions of merchandise to be sold in the store
– Ordering merchandise and supplies or prepares requisitions to replenish merchandise.
– Reporting all non-sellable and old stocks to the management to take action.
– Ensuring all products complete with its original accessories and packing.
c) Duty Management
– Planning and preparing work schedules and assigns employees to specific duties.
– Scheduling break periods, work hours, day off and vacations for all staff
– Sending the work schedule to management on monthly basis or as required.
d) Customer Service
– Being constantly aware of customers and their needs
– Ensuring that all customers, irrespective of color, creed or gender are treated equally.
– Acting as a main assistance in customer relations
– Daily and weekly checking of all exchanges and refunds
– Assisting with special customer deliveries when necessary
– Monitoring the customer feedback system from follow up calls and customer comment reports.
– Ensuring that every customer comment is answered promptly when necessary.
e) Sales
– Working according to Sales Plan.
– Being the key driving force in ensuring optimum sales are achieved.
– Managing and leading staff in achieving their targets
– Having an excellent and up to date knowledge of all store activities and products
– Working on stock control to ensure optimum movement of stock including fast and slow movers.
– Communicating with Head Office about new products, display methods and general stock issues.
– Summarizing and forwarding the daily feedback about sales to Head Office
f) Administration
– Working according to Admin Manuals
– Checking daily sales and cash figures from the cash desks
– Monitoring and checking the petty cash
– Ensuring that daily collection is deposited to the company.
– Reporting any discrepancy (Short or Excess) in sales collection on daily basis
– Ensuring the validity of all showroom licenses (i.e. sign board, promotion& etc.) and report any expired one to the head office immediately
g) Safety & Security
– Working according to Safety & Security Manuals
– Heading and being fully responsible for the store security and safety systems
– Driving, implementing, and following company security and safety policies.
h) Personnel
– Ensuring that the best staff possible are hired and trained for the company
– checking the payroll and budgeted overtime
– Checking holiday schedules
– Signing of staff references and vacations.
– Working with admin to monitor sick leaves.
– Assisting with annual and probationary appraisals
– Assisting in all disciplinary procedures
i) Management
– Ensuring that correct staff disciplinary procedures are followed
– Ensuring that all staff have received the correct training and knows their job descriptions.
– Carrying out competition checks and reporting back to the management team
– Implementing correct management scheduling to ensure optimum customer service levels, including holidays.
– Strictly adhering to operating budgets
– Reporting to the management on showroom operations, performance and resource

j) Meetings
– Arranging and attending and leading the daily staff gathering in both morning & afternoon shifts
– Holding meetings with staff to discuss performance, store problems / solutions, motivating them and ensure a high level of performance, communicate any requirement.
– Attending meeting & training at the head office when needed
