Duties and Responsibilities

• Abide by all related hospital wide policies and procedures, hospital by-laws and those specific to the department.
• At all times adhere to the confidentiality code of conduct, protecting patients’ rights to privacy.
• Carry out routine radiological examinations according to agreed procedures and performs special radiological procedures under supervision of senior/trained staff, Undertake training in the above procedure as required by the department.
• Ensure that the X-ray rooms, equipment and department are kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Ensure that patients and staff are protected from unnecessary hazards due to radiation. To be responsible at all times for patient and visitor welfare and comfort.
• Keep abreast of current developments, new techniques and changes within the radiographic profession.
• Respond to and report any equipment faults to a Senior Radiographer with accurate details of malfunction.
• Attend briefings and departmental staff meetings.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills and abilities.
