Responsibilities
- Identifying Prospects: Research and identify potential customers in the electrical industry.
- Sales Planning: Develop strategies and plans for achieving sales targets and expanding market share.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients through regular communication and visits.
- Product Knowledge: Have a deep understanding of the electrical products and solutions offered by the company.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers, including assisting with product selection, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
- Quoting and Pricing: Prepare and present price quotations and proposals to customers.
- Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions of sales agreements, including pricing, delivery, and payment terms.
- Order Processing: Process sales orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of products.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- Sales Reporting: Prepare regular sales reports, including forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance against targets.
- Customer Feedback: Gather feedback from customers to understand their needs and preferences, and relay this information to the product development and marketing teams.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to customers on the use and installation of electrical products.
- Attend Trade Shows and Events: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to promote products and services.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and other relevant information.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all sales activities.
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, sales engineering, business administration, or a related field.
- TechnicalKnowledge: Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, products, and solutions, including components such as switches, relays, cctv, audio, video, automation and circuit breakers. Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations relevant to the industry is also beneficial.
- SalesExperience: Minimum 10 years of proven track record of success in sales or business development roles, preferably in the electrical or technical industry. Experience selling electrical products, equipment, or solutions to commercial, industrial, or institutional customers is highly desirable.
- CustomerRelationshipManagement: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions to address their challenges. Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation are essential for establishing rapport and trust with clients.
- CommunicationSkills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and compellingly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Effective presentation skills and the ability to deliver persuasive sales pitches are also important.
- NegotiationSkills: Proficiency in negotiating sales contracts, pricing agreements, and terms of sale, with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for both the company and the customer. Ability to navigate complex sales cycles and close deals effectively.
- BusinessAcumen: Understanding of business principles, financial metrics, and market dynamics relevant to the electrical industry. Ability to identify growth opportunities, develop sales strategies, and make data-driven decisions to drive business success.
- TeamCollaboration: Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, marketing, and customer support, to ensure alignment and deliver comprehensive solutions to customers. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- SalesToolsProficiency: Familiarity with sales tools and technologies, such as CRM systems, sales analytics platforms, and presentation software, to streamline sales processes, track customer interactions, and enhance productivity.
- TimeManagement: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred: CPSP, CSE, CISP, CSLP, CPSC, CISP and CSOP holders.
