Job Summary:
Graphic Designer supports the ICRC’s Public and digital communication work by producing and implementing a cohesive ICRC visual identity across varied digital channels and platforms and print products (Social Media Visuals, Animations, printing, and e templates.)
S/he advises on the best methods (including use of information, reports; use key initiatives and campaigns, providing training and guidance to delegations)
Objectives and Tasks:
- Collaborates with the communication team to develop templates for digital and print products based on current ICRC visual identity.
- Designs digital blogs, webpages, e-newsletters, GIFs, and print products.
- Produces visual assets (photos, videos, maps) for campaigns and social media posts, coordinating with Digital Officers.
- Creates infographics (static, interactive, and/or animated).
- Assists the audiovisual team with visual elements for video projects as required.
- Implements the ICRC’s visual identity locally and globally, working closely with graphic design specialists on various digital and print products.
- Develops and maintains a network of external contacts with agencies and creative professionals.
- Keeps abreast of technological developments, with specific expertise in visual-related hardware.
- Utilizes innovation and creativity to generate new ideas and concepts to meet the advertising needs of the delegation, such as for new products and events.
- Analyzes content trends, new media, and technical innovations, informing relevant ICRC hierarchy and colleagues.
- Plans and ensures proper sharing, storage, and final archiving of visuals in coordination with the communication team.
- Develops design briefs and sketches of images and logos by conducting research.
- Draws samples or mock-ups of proposed layouts or designs and creates screen layouts.
- Researches the latest graphic design trends to generate new ideas and concepts.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Content Planning and Production (in close coordination with Digital, AV, Public and Internal com)
- Under the supervision of the Av Producer and Digital Communication Officer and In collaboration with the Digital officer, leads the development and creation of visual communication products
- Supports the efforts of the ICRC Lebanon in planning and organizing the ongoing efforts to create, edit, repurpose and deliver a wide variety of engaging visual content for digital channels, targeting a variety of key audiences, including the general public.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Internally, interacts with the AV producer, the digital communication Officer, the internal communication officer, the public communication officer and other communication staff members, including at field structures, focal points from departments and sub delegations.
- Externally, interacts with design agencies, freelance designers, animators, photographers, video producers, and public relations officers in other humanitarian organizations.
GENERAL DUTIES

- Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct.
- Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

- Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times.
- Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers.
- Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC.
- May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary.
Job Details:
Job Location: Beirut
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8am to 5 pm
Salary Package: USD 2’037 – 3’518(As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).
