As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient planning, procurement, and distribution of materials to support the company’s operations. You will work closely with various departments to understand their material requirements and develop effective procurement strategies. Your attention to detail and strong analytical skills will be crucial in maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing costs. This role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with suppliers and ensure timely delivery of materials. Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of supply chain management principles and experience in material planning or procurement.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with different departments to determine their material requirements and forecast demand.
- Develop and implement material procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to optimize stock levels and minimize costs.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery and receipt of materials.
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to material procurement and delivery.
- Track and report on key performance indicators related to material planning and procurement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to make informed decisions.
Preferred Candidate:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in material planning or procurement.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in using ERP systems and other supply chain management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
