The Lab Supervisor is responsible for running the lab operations and leading the team to conduct inspections on RM/PM and their release for production and inspecting FG in warehouse and releasing for dispatch. The Lab Supervisor ensures that all safety procedures are followed in the lab and maintains the Quality Inspection Plan for receiving, in-process, and finished goods inspection. They review test results of finished goods inspection and advise for their dispatch, maintain lab equipment, and order supplies as needed. The Lab Supervisor also conducts Proficiency Testing, 3rd party lab exams, and participates in internal and external audits. They review Work Instructions in the lab, maintain records, investigate customer complaints, and evaluate the lab team’s performance. Additionally, they follow up on Pest Control, hygiene and cleaning activities, GMP action plans, perform warehouse audits, and conduct comparison testing.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all safety procedures are followed in the lab
- Ensure that the Quality Inspection Plan for receiving, in-process, and finished goods inspection are followed
- Review test results of finished goods inspection and advise for their dispatch
- Ensure lab equipment are maintained and calibrated and suggest new equipment to be purchased
- Maintain inventory of supplies and order new supplies as needed
- Ensure safe keeping of quality samples
- Conduct Proficiency Testing in the lab
- Conduct 3rd party lab exams for routine and non-routine analysis
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Participate in SAP implementation
- Review Work Instructions in the lab, update or create new, and conduct training to the lab team whenever needed
- Maintain laboratory records, reports, and files
- Investigate customer complaints and make effective corrective and preventive action plans by conducting root cause analysis along with relevant plant teams
- Evaluate the lab team and provide regular feedback on their performance
- Follow up Pest Control activities in the Plant
- Follow up Hygiene and cleaning activities in the Plant
- Follow up GMP action plans with relevant departments
- Perform branch warehouse audits
- Perform comparison testing between the different local brands
- Orient new employees on GMP and Personal Hygiene and provide refresher training to employees whenever needed
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong knowledge of lab procedures, safety standards, and quality inspection protocols
- Experience with SAP implementation
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
