JOB SITE: Alkhafji, Saudi Arabia

• Analyzes samples of streams, raw and treated wastewater, sludge, and other byproducts of the wastewater treatment process to determine the efficiency of plant processes and to ensure that plant effluent meets water pollution control requirements, using standard laboratory equipment: Conducts tests for settleable solids, suspended solids, total solids, volatile solids, volatile acids, alkalinity, pH, dissolved oxygen demand, turbidity, and other substances.
• Operates, cleans, calibrates, and maintains laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Calculates results from raw laboratory data; logs results; maintains accurate test records to facilitate preparation of various State and Federal wastewater treatment reports.
• Prepares reagents, standards, and test solutions as needed.
• Resolves day-to-day questions/problems from treatment plant operators regarding appropriate materials, methods, and procedures to be used in collecting treatment plant samples.
• Assists with data entry and other duties as needed.
• Contributes effectively to the Public Works Department, and communicates effectively with co-workers, both within the department as well as outside the department.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in multiple analytical techniques (TOC and ICP).
• Follow up on chemicals stock and make required purchasing requests for it.
• Prepares reports, maintains data, and determines the statistical relevance of analytical results.
• Microbiological tests of water and microscopic examination of wastewater.
• Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and especially Excel)
