The Accounts and Finance Manager in a manufacturing and Contracting/Subcontracting environment is responsible for managing all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, oversees day-to-day accounting operations, and plays a key role in managing costs, optimizing cash flow, local Taxation, Customs Duties and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The manager collaborates with production, procurement, and operations teams to drive financial efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements (profit/loss, balance sheet, cash flow) in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing regular variance analysis.
- Prepare reports on production costs, inventory valuation, and capital expenditure.
- Monitor financial KPIs (gross margins, operating expenses, cost of goods sold).
Cost Control and Analysis:
- Conduct cost analysis to identify areas for reduction in production and operational expenses.
- Oversee product costing, BOM (Bill of Materials) analysis, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure accurate costing, material usage, and process efficiencies.
- Monitor overhead costs, labor expenses, and ensure accurate allocation to production.
Accounts Management:
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
- Manage working capital, optimize cash flow, and oversee credit control.
- Reconcile accounts and oversee month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure proper inventory accounting and asset management.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations, statutory requirements, and audit procedures.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and government agencies.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent financial risks.
Strategic Planning and Collaboration:
- Work closely with the production and supply chain teams to align financial strategies with operational goals.
- Provide financial insights to support capital investment decisions and expansion projects.
- Develop and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Financing and Credit Facilities:
- Negotiate and secure working capital facilities from banks and financial institutions.
- Manage and renew revolving credit facilities, invoice financing, and trade credit agreements.
- Collaborate with lenders to optimize terms and conditions for working capital loan.
UAE Taxation:
- Corporate Tax (CT)
- Value Added Tax (VAT)
Office and Administrative Management:
- Oversee day-to-day office operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment inventory, ordering supplies when necessary.
- Ensure office facilities are well-maintained and organized, ensuring a safe and productive working environment.
- Supervise the administrative team to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Customs Compliance and Documentation (Supervision):
- Ensure that all customs processes comply with local and international laws and regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of customs documentation, including import/export declarations, bills of lading, and invoices.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of customs rules, regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Monitor changes in laws and ensure that the company’s policies remain compliant.
Customs Clearance and Duty Management (Supervision):
- Manage the customs clearance process to ensure timely and accurate clearance of goods at the border.
- Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure that shipments meet all customs requirements.
- Ensure proper classification of goods, tariff codes, and duty rates to minimize delays and costs.
- Develop and implement procedures for reducing customs-related costs, such as minimizing duties and taxes through duty exemptions, tariffs, or free trade agreements.
