Job Purpose:

The Senior Project Engineer – Telecommunication/IT is responsible for managing major, multidiscipline Telecommunication/IT projects from conceptual design to implementation and commissioning. This role involves overseeing the development and execution of projects related to data center and network infrastructure, business continuity, disaster recovery, and information and cyber security. The role is also accountable for coordinating resources, managing budgets, measuring performance, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management:
• Oversee all aspects of the project lifecycle, from conception to completion, ensuring projects meet defined goals, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, subconsultants, and subcontractors, to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans aligned with business goals and objectives.
• Allocate and manage resources to support project execution.
• Track project progress, manage risks, and make necessary adjustments to ensure success.
• Ensure project deliverables meet required quality standards and comply with business plans.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones, and performance metrics.
• Leadership & Team Management:
• Lead and guide multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve high-quality results.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders and other departments.
• Foster team collaboration, ensure clear communication, and manage performance.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and project team members to enhance team performance and development.
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) regulations and safety practices within the project team.
• Risk & Change Management:
• Proactively identify and manage risks, ensuring that mitigation measures are implemented to reduce project impact.
• Ensure effective change control processes are in place to manage project scope changes.
• Maintain project documentation and control systems, ensuring accurate records are kept throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance:
• Work within the guidelines of the relevant Quality Assurance system to ensure project quality standards are met.
• Ensure all project activities comply with applicable regulations, standards, and HSE policies.
• Monitor and control the health, safety, and environmental risks associated with project activities.
• Business Plan Development & Execution:
• Align project goals with the overarching business plan objectives.
• Develop and track project execution plans to ensure they are aligned with business plan timelines.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and apply lessons learned to future projects.
• Performance Reporting & Operational Reviews:
• Gather and analyze data on project performance and operational metrics.
• Prepare detailed performance reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
• Present reports to senior management, providing actionable insights for improving performance and operational efficiency.
• Continuously assess processes and systems to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
• Committee & Working Group Management:
• Establish and manage committees and working groups in accordance with company governance practices.
• Ensure effective communication within committees, including organizing meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting actions.
• Additional Responsibilities:
• Participate in IT business continuity management, including planning, testing, and reporting.
• Anticipate project bottlenecks and proactively implement measures to avoid or mitigate their impact.
• Ensure timely decision-making and drive project results within the required quality and cost standards.
• Develop and implement written systems, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Stay updated on new IT solutions, tools, and technologies relevant to the role.
• Adapt to new processes, management structures, and business models as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, IT, or related field.
• Extensive experience in managing complex telecommunication or IT infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, business continuity, disaster recovery, and cyber security.
• Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with project management tools, risk management, and quality assurance processes.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations and commitment to safety.
• Ability to mentor and coach team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Strong decision-making abilities and the capability to anticipate and address project challenges.
