Job Responsibilities
Inspecting vehicles to identify mechanical problems, such as leaks in the fuel system or worn tires
Performing safety inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition
Examining vehicle titles and registration documents to ensure that they are valid
Inspecting vehicles for damage, ensuring that all equipment is installed properly, and checking for recalls
Reporting any unsafe conditions to the appropriate party for further action
Performing minor repairs or arranging for repairs to be made, including changing oil and replacing filters
Performing mechanical services such as tire rotations and balancing, replacing brakes, and changing transmission fluid
Checking for signs of theft, vandalism, or other damage, such as dents or scratches, especially on vehicles that have been involved in accidents
Determining if vehicles have been damaged in accidents by checking for signs of repair work or paint matching between panels
