A leading engineering consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drainage Hydrology Engineer for an urban road project in Ghana. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in drainage engineering, hydrology, and water resources management.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop drainage systems and infrastructure for various projects.
- Conduct hydrological studies to assess the impact of rainfall on drainage systems.
- Analyze and interpret data related to water flow, precipitation, and groundwater levels.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and drainage plans.
- Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure effective drainage design and implementation.
- Review and evaluate existing drainage systems for improvements and maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and junior engineers.
- Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to drainage engineering.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess drainage systems and identify potential issues.
- Manage and oversee the implementation of drainage projects, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field
- Postgraduate degree in water/hydraulic engineering or relavant field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in drainage engineering, design of hydraulic structures,hydrology, and water resources management
- Strong knowledge of hydrological modeling software and GIS tools.
- Experience in designing and implementing drainage systems for urban and rural areas.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of local and international drainage engineering standards and regulations.
