Our client, one of the leading dairy companies in the Middle East is looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join their team.
Opportunity:
Reporting to the General Manager, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will provide strategic leadership to our client’s key functional departments including Herd, Supply Chain, Process Plants, Project & Plant Maintenance, Quality Assurance/Control, R&D, General Maintenance, Plant Maintenance, and Support Services. This executive role involves developing dynamic operational strategies, driving innovation initiatives, and ensuring the company remains a leader in the dairy industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and present strategic and annual business plans.
- Create annual operating plans supporting the strategic direction set by Executive Management.
- Work closely with and Directors and Departments Management.
- Manage OPEX & CAPEX budgets and report progress against business plans regularly.
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations of functional departments.
- Drive innovative business improvements to achieve operational excellence.
- Oversee risk management and ensure legal compliance with regional requirements.
- Consolidate all business units in the location into a cohesive and productive organization.
- Lower costs through optimization of people, processes, and technologies.
- Foster and maintain business relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Act as a key advisor to company management and a catalyst for change.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; MBA is preferable.
- Minimum 20 years in FMCG companies, with at least 10 years in a senior managerial role.
- Preferred experience in the dairy/juice industries and familiarity with the GCC region.
- Expertise in project management and ERP/business applications.
- In-depth knowledge of the latest dairy technologies.
- Leadership and team development.
- Strong analytical skills and decisive judgment.
- Proven ability to manage KPIs and P&Ls.
- Effective negotiation and presentation skills.
- Innovative approach to business improvements.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); Arabic is a definite advantage.
