Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Lifecycle Management

o Oversee the entire lifecycle of software assets from procurement to

retirement.

contractual obligations.

o Work with legal and procurement teams to ensure that software

acquisitions comply with licensing terms.

o Track software usage and identify opportunities for cost savings or

optimization.

o Recommend the consolidation of software products and negotiate

contracts with vendors.

  • Reporting and Documentation

o Maintain accurate records of software assets and licenses.

o Generate regular compliance and usage reports for management and

audits.

2. Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Job Description

Job Summary:

The Hardware Asset Manager (HAM) is responsible for managing the procurement,

deployment, tracking, and disposal of all IT hardware assets within the organization. The

HAM ensures that hardware assets are properly maintained, tracked throughout their

lifecycle, and disposed of in accordance with company policies and environmental

regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

 Asset Procurement and Inventory Management:

o Oversee the acquisition of hardware assets (e.g., computers, servers,

networking devices) in accordance with business requirements.

o Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all hardware assets,

including model, location, and condition.

 Lifecycle Management:

o Track hardware asset usage and performance from acquisition to end-of-

life.

o Ensure timely maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to maximize the lifespan

and performance of hardware assets.

 Configuration and Deployment:

o Manage the deployment of hardware assets to departments and users.

o Work closely with IT support teams to ensure correct configuration and

deployment of hardware.

 Asset Disposal and Recycling:

o Coordinate the decommissioning, disposal, and recycling of outdated or

non-functional hardware in accordance with environmental and data

security regulations.

 Compliance and Reporting:

o Ensure compliance with asset management policies and financial tracking

of hardware investments.

o Provide regular reports on hardware asset usage, costs, and performance.
